Ingredients
- 1/2 cup chana dal
- 1 cup jaggery
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp ghee
- Cashews and raisins
Method
- 1
Roast chana dal lightly in ghee, then cook until soft.

Melt jaggery in a little water, strain to remove impurities.

Add jaggery syrup to cooked dal and mix well.

Add coconut milk and cardamom, simmer on low 10 minutes.

Fry cashews and raisins in ghee, add to payasam.

Serve warm as a festive dessert.
