Sambar
Ingredients
- 1 cup toor dal
- 1 drumstick, cut
- 1 carrot, diced
- 6 okra
- 1 brinjal, cubed
- 2 tbsp sambar powder
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- Curry leaves
- 2 dried red chilies
Method

Cook toor dal until soft and set aside.

Boil vegetables with sambar powder, tamarind paste and salt.

Add cooked dal to the vegetable mixture and simmer 10 minutes.

Temper with oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and dried red chilies.

Pour tempering over sambar and mix well.

Serve with idli, dosa or steamed rice.
