Fragrant rice pulao with white peas and whole spices

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup white vatana, soaked overnight
- 1.5 cups basmati rice
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tbsp ghee
Method

Cook soaked vatana until just tender, drain.

Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes.

Heat ghee, add cumin, bay leaf, cloves and cinnamon.

Add onion, saute until golden, then add rice and vatana.

Add water, salt and cook covered on low for 15 minutes.

Fluff with fork and serve with raita.
