Classic rich and creamy dal makhani slow-cooked overnight

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole urad dal
  • 1/4 cup rajma
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi
  • Salt to taste

Method

    Soak urad dal and rajma overnight, pressure cook until very soft.

    Heat butter, add ginger-garlic paste, cook until raw smell goes.

    Add tomato puree and spices, cook until oil separates.

  4. 4

    Add cooked dal and simmer on lowest heat for 1 hour.

    Add cream and butter, stir and cook another 15 minutes.

  6. 6

    Finish with kasuri methi and serve with butter naan.
