Wholesome whole urad dal fry with bold North Indian spices

Ingredients
- 1 cup whole urad dal, soaked 6 hours
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 3 tbsp ghee
- Fresh coriander
Method
- 1
Pressure cook soaked urad dal until soft but not mushy.

Heat ghee, add cumin seeds and saute onion until golden.

Add ginger-garlic paste, tomatoes and all spices.

Cook until masala is well done and oil separates.

Add cooked dal, adjust water and simmer 10 minutes.

Garnish with coriander and serve with paratha.
