Tangy homemade raw turmeric pickle with mustard oil

Ingredients

  • 200g raw turmeric root
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 4 tbsp mustard oil
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds, coarsely ground
  • Salt to taste

Method

    Wash and peel raw turmeric, cut into thin slices.

    Dry the slices in shade for 2-3 hours.

    Mix turmeric powder, chili, mustard, salt and lemon juice.

    Add sliced turmeric and toss well.

    Pour warm mustard oil over and mix thoroughly.

    Store in glass jar, ready to eat in 3-4 days.
