Ingredients
- 1 cup toor dal
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 garlic cloves
- Curry leaves
- Pinch of hing
- 3 tbsp ghee
- Salt and turmeric
Method

Cook toor dal with turmeric until soft and creamy.

Cook basmati rice separately until each grain is fluffy.

Heat ghee, add cumin, garlic, curry leaves and hing for tempering.

Pour tempering into the dal and stir.

Plate rice and pour hot dal generously over it.

Top with a spoon of ghee and serve with papad and pickle.
