Crispy masoor dal fritters spiced with ginger and green chili

Ingredients

  • 1 cup masoor dal, soaked 2 hours
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Method

    Drain soaked masoor dal and grind to a coarse paste.

    Mix in onion, green chilies, ginger, curry leaves and salt.

    Shape into small flat round vadas.

    Heat oil until hot, fry vadas in batches until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Drain on kitchen paper towel.

  6. 6

    Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
