Traditional Maharashtrian amti made with madhi toor dal

Ingredients
- 1 cup madhi toor dal
- 2 kokum petals
- 1 tsp goda masala
- 2 tbsp coconut, grated
- 1 tsp jaggery
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- Curry leaves
- Pinch of hing
Method

Cook madhi dal until soft and mash lightly.

Add kokum, jaggery, goda masala and salt.

Grind coconut to paste and stir into dal.

Simmer for 10 minutes until flavours blend.

Temper with oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and hing.

Serve hot with steamed rice and lemon wedge.
