Rasam
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup toor dal
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- 1 tsp rasam powder
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Curry leaves
- 2 dried red chilies
- Fresh coriander
- Pinch of hing
Method

Cook toor dal until soft, mash and extract thin dal water.

Boil tomato with tamarind paste and rasam powder.

Add dal water and simmer for 10 minutes.

Temper with mustard seeds, cumin, curry leaves, dried chilies and hing.

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Serve hot with steamed rice or drink as a soup.
