Yogurt-based sweet and sour kadhi paired with toor dal

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup toor dal
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp besan
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- Curry leaves
- 2 green chilies
- Pinch of hing
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 cloves
Method

Cook toor dal until soft.

Whisk yogurt with besan and water until smooth.

Boil the yogurt mixture with sugar, salt, green chilies.

Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Temper with mustard seeds, curry leaves, cloves, cinnamon and hing.

Serve kadhi alongside dal over steamed rice with ghee.
