Traditional UP-style fresh green peas curry with mustard oil

Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh green peas
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 green chilies
- 1 inch ginger
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- Fresh coriander
Method

Grind half the peas to a coarse paste with ginger and chilies.

Heat mustard oil until it smokes, then cool slightly.

Saute onion until golden, add tomatoes and turmeric.

Add peas paste, stir and cook for 5 minutes.

Add remaining whole peas, water and simmer 15 minutes.

Garnish with coriander and serve with steamed rice.
