Hyderabadi green chili curry in peanut-coconut gravy

Ingredients

  • 8 large green chilies
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • 2 tbsp coconut, grated
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tbsp oil

Method

    Slit green chilies lengthwise and fry lightly in oil.

    Roast and grind peanuts, coconut and sesame to a paste.

    Fry onion slices until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Add chili powder, turmeric and ground paste with tamarind water.

    Simmer the gravy for 10 minutes.

    Add fried chilies and cook 5 more minutes. Serve with biryani.
