Fiery Andhra-style chicken curry with bold red chili

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken, cut
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 onions, pureed
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 3 tbsp oil

Method

    Marinate chicken with chili powder, turmeric and salt for 30 minutes.

    Heat oil, add cumin and curry leaves.

    Saute onion puree until dark golden.

  4. 4

    Add ginger-garlic and tomato puree, cook until oil separates.

  5. 5

    Add marinated chicken, cover and cook 25 minutes.

    Serve with steamed rice and a cooling raita.
