  • 1 cup bajra flour
  • 1/2 cup moong dal
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • Buttermilk for serving

Method

    Cook moong dal with turmeric until soft.

    Add bajra flour gradually to the dal, stirring to avoid lumps.

    Cook on low heat for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.

    Add ghee and cumin seeds tempering.

    The khichdi should be thick and porridge-like.

    Serve hot with ghee, buttermilk and garlic chutney.
