Ingredients

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom
  • Saffron strands
  • Silver leaf (vark) for decoration

Method

    Blanch almonds, peel and grind to a fine powder.

    Make sugar syrup to one-string consistency.

  3. 3

    Add almond powder and ghee, stir continuously on low heat.

  4. 4

    Add cardamom and saffron, cook until mixture thickens.

  5. 5

    Spread on greased plate, smooth the top.

  6. 6

    Apply silver leaf, let set and cut into diamond shapes.
