Traditional fermented dosa batter with urad chilka dal

Ingredients
- 1 cup urad chilka dal
- 3 cups rice
- 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
- Salt to taste
- Water for grinding
Method

Soak urad dal with fenugreek seeds for 4 hours.

Soak rice separately for 4 hours.

Grind urad dal first to a fluffy smooth batter.

Grind rice to a slightly coarse batter.

Mix both batters, add salt and ferment overnight in warm place.

Use fermented batter to make crispy dosas on hot tawa.
