Simple everyday urad chilka dal with cumin tempering

Ingredients
- 1 cup urad chilka dal
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 2 green chilies
- 2 tbsp ghee
- Fresh coriander
Method

Wash and soak urad chilka dal for 30 minutes.

Pressure cook with turmeric and salt for 3 whistles.

Heat ghee, add cumin, garlic and green chilies.

Add chopped tomato and cook until soft.

Pour tempering over the dal and simmer 5 minutes.

Garnish with coriander and serve with rice or chapati.
