- 1 cup toor dal
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- Black pepper
- Lemon juice
Method

Cook dal with turmeric until very soft, blend until smooth.

Saute garlic, ginger and onion in a little oil.

Add diced carrot, cook until tender.

Add blended dal and vegetable stock, simmer 15 minutes.

Season with cumin, pepper, salt and lemon juice.

Serve hot with toasted bread or crackers.
