Rich buttery dal makhani-inspired toor dal with cream

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups toor dal
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder

Method

    Cook toor dal until very soft and creamy.

    Heat butter, saute ginger-garlic paste until fragrant.

    Add tomato puree, cook for 10 minutes until oil separates.

    Add all spices and mix well.

    Add cooked dal and cream, simmer on low for 20 minutes.

    Finish with butter and kasuri methi, serve with naan.
