Creamy toor dal with rich butter and garlic tempering

Ingredients
- 1 cup toor dal
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 6 garlic cloves, sliced
- 3 dried red chilies
- 1 tsp kasuri methi
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- Salt to taste
Method

Pressure cook dal with turmeric and salt until creamy.

Mash well for a smooth consistency.

Heat butter, add cumin, garlic slices and dried red chilies.

When garlic turns golden, add chopped tomatoes and cook down.

Add kasuri methi, pour over the dal and mix well.

Simmer for 5 minutes and serve with jeera rice.
