Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup toor dal
  • 2 tbsp each: moong, masoor, chana, urad dal
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 dried red chilies
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 3 tbsp ghee

Method

    Wash and soak all five dals together for 30 minutes.

    Pressure cook with turmeric and salt until soft.

  3. 3

    Mash lightly keeping some texture.

  4. 4

    Heat ghee, add cumin, dried chilies, add tomatoes and spices.

    Pour the tempering over the mixed dal.

    Simmer for 10 minutes, serve with bajra roti or rice.
