Rajasthani five-lentil dal with aromatic tempering

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup toor dal
- 2 tbsp each: moong, masoor, chana, urad dal
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 dried red chilies
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 3 tbsp ghee
Method

Wash and soak all five dals together for 30 minutes.

Pressure cook with turmeric and salt until soft.

Mash lightly keeping some texture.

Heat ghee, add cumin, dried chilies, add tomatoes and spices.

Pour the tempering over the mixed dal.

Simmer for 10 minutes, serve with bajra roti or rice.
